Textile and clothing exports in Peru are expected to reverse the downward trend in 2017

According to Peru's "business daily" reported in May 4th the Peru Exporters Association news, 2017 1-3 month Peru textile and clothing exports grew by 0.5%, of which textile exports $85 million 600 thousand, an increase of 1%, clothing export $209 million, growth of 0.3%. As a result, exports will be close to $1 billion 200 million in 2017, roughly the same as $1 billion 196 million in 2016, which is expected to reverse the downward trend in recent years. The head of the chamber of Commerce said that the country should establish a mechanism to improve the productivity of textile and garment exporting enterprises to achieve the medium-term goal of exporting US $2 billion, a goal that was achieved in 2011.
